Indicating blocker or critical issues

Sometimes unexpected issues may block the regular implementation of a story. Those issues should be resolved as soon as possible. Examples of blocking issues:

  • A bug has been found in a feature, so it can’t be released in a software development project.
  • The proofreader has found errors in a text, so it can’t be published.

When the team detects the problem, someone needs to take action to resolve the issue. Team members can create a new task that describes the action to be taken and can mark the task as „blocker.”

Blocked stories are marked with a red exclamation mark to make the problem explicit for team members.

To mark a task as a blocker:

  • On a story card, click on the '…' icon of a task menu and select ‘Mark as blocker’
