Create a New Topic
You can create a new topic on the topic panel, or from the backlog.
Creating a topic on the Topics panel
To create a new topic, open the Topics panel from the backlog or board, and click on “+ New topic” menu on the Topics panel.
Type in the name of the topic and press ‘Enter’, or click outside of the input box.
Tip: topic initials are created from the first two letters of the topic name. You can also use emoji symbols to make topics more expressive. Use an emoji symbol as the first letter of the topic name.
Arrange topics into a hierarchy
To create a hierarchy in topics, drag&drop a topic below and slightly right to another topic.
You can use topics to manage epics, sub-projects or milestones. If you organize your topics into a hierarchy, you can read the total number of user stories and their total estimations within the hierarchy when the hierarchy is collapsed. If you expand the hierarchy, you can read the number of items and their total estimations within each child.
The numbers refer to the user stories within the actual view (backlog, or board), not the total number of user stories across the entire project.
